Cups for a cause

There are 103 of the traditional cups available for $1,000. You must pick up the cup on Derby Day.

More details are available for the “luxurious” Mint Julep Cup as Woodford Reserve calls it.

The Woodford Reserve $1,000 Mint Julep Cup Experience includes a sterling silver Mint Julep Cup and a specially concocted version of the Derby beverage.

You can order one of the Tiffany & Co. cups in advance, ah, but you can only pick up the cup on Derby day. They will be filling the cup with a Julep concocted from ingredients from from far-flung places.

The ice: Made from raiwater from Tasmania, Australia
Chocolate Mint: Grown in San Diego
Sugar: Bourbon smoked in Louisville
Bourbon: Master Distillers personal selection of Woodford Reserve small-batch super-premium stock.

This is the sixth year for the special cups. Since beginning, over $300,000 has been raised for equine and humanitarian causes.

There are only 103 of these cups available. In addition, there are 3 “Prestige” cups that feature 24 karat gold vermeil around the base. This gold was originally from a horse racing cup Tiffany & Co. created in 1876.
