Bourbon better than Scotch

F. Paul Pacult in the June issue of The Spirit Journal rated a bourbon whiskey as tops in the world over the perennial scotch.

George T. Stagg bourbon from Buffalo Trace distillery.

He rated the George T. Stagg bourbon from the Buffalo Trace Distillery is best.

“If you’re not first you’re last” seems kind of appropriate. That line was made famous by the character Ricky Bobby in Talladega Nights: The ballad of Ricky Bobby. It is the 2006 movie starring Will Farrell.

Highland Park 18 Scotch Whiskey came in second. This is the first time Highland Park has finished second since 2005. The scotch is frequently the favorite at the starting gate.

Pacult says in his review, “This is more of a clarion call that American whiskey distillers run with the best of Scotland and Ireland and, in some cases, like GT Stagg, eclipse them.”

George T. Stagg is an unfiltered and uncut product released annually from Buffalo Trace in Frankfort, Ky.
