The grand opening is set for the Four Roses Bourbon Barrel Loft at BBC.
Mark your calendars for Thursday, Aug. 11 from 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. to help open the Four Roses Bourbon Barrel Loft at the Blue Grass Brewing Company’s downtown Louisville location at 300 W. Main St. on the third floor.
You’ll can BBC Brewmaster Toby Hunt who is using some used Four Roses Distillery bourbon barrels. The charred, white oak barrels can be used only one time for aging bourbon. Often they are used for other distilled spirits and other products as well. BBC will be using them to add flavor to some of their brews.
Jim Rutledge, Four Roses Master Distiller says: “The bourbon-soaked white oak barrels will add fantastic flavors and distinct character to BBC’s beer.”
This effort brings another bourbon name to downtown Louisville. The Maker’s Mark Bourbon House & Lounge is located at 446 S. 4th Street. Recently Michter’s announced plans to open an operation on West Main Street. And there is talk of the Louisville Distilling Company, the producers of Angel’s Envy, looking at some Metro Louisville locations.
