Angel's Envy considering 3 sites

Louisville was toasting the addition of a bourbon coming to Louisville. They’re not new, but they will be new to the neighborhood.

Michter’s, distilled and bottled in Bardstown, is planning to set up a a nearly $8 million, 20,000-square-foot facility in downtown Louisville. The company is a division of New York-based Chatham Imports.

Gov. Steve Beshear call all that’s happening a “bourbon revolution” at the announcement last week.

You might want to keep that glass ready, though, for another round of toasts and bourbon sips.

Wesley Henderson says that Louisville Distilling Company, which has Angel’s Envy on store shelves, would really like to have a home base in Louisville.

“We are still in the site selection phase and have three good potential sites, two of which are in Metro,” Henderson says.

And even if they don’t have a decision on a location yet, plans are moving forward he says.

“Engineering is in progress, and our site will be a fully functioning distillery visitors experience, from grain processing to bottling. We expect to be distilling by early 2012,” he says.

Right now Angel’s Envy is in 11 states, with more to follow, he says. Recently they moved the product into New York, and it sold out in a heartbeat, he noted in a recent post on Facebook.

Wes lured his dad, Lincoln Henderson out of retirement a few years back to get back into distilling. You can read about Lincoln Henderson in this story.
