This is perfect, just say you are going to get some “Roses” for Valentine’s Day … what is she going to say?

On Friday, February 10 from 5:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. head over to Nanz & Kraft in St. Matthews for the Four Roses Flower Hour. Make a minimum donation of $5 that benefits Operation Brightside and you can sip on various Four Roses bourbons, nibble on hors d’oeuvres and chat with master distiller Jim Rutledge. He’s wonderful. A great storyteller.

Last year it was standing-room only. Well, there is no place to sit, so it would be. The crowd was friendly and I ran into some friends.

If you are one of the first 100 guests, you’ll receive a special Valentine gift.

On second thought, forget the rose ruse, it’s a nice event to take your special someone. Afterwards, head over to to dine in St. Matthews along Shelbyville Road.

Operation Brightside helps to beautify Louisville Metro with oases of lush plants, shrubs and flowers.
