Jack offers rides home for the holidays

Bourbon lovers don’t be offended. In a nod to our friends south of the Kentucky border, the Jack Daniel’s folks are helping to bring military families together for the holidays.

They have connected with Armed Services YMCA of Fort Campbell with a donation of $101,000 to launch the effort. Of course, that amount is a reference to the famed 101st Airborne Division at the base.

The YMCA organization will help with gas, lodging and food for soldiers and families through pre-paid debit cards and plane tickets.

The Jack Daniel Distillery is encouraging people to make contributions through this Web Site: www.JDOperationRideHome.com

In a news release Jeff Arnett, Jack Daniel’s Master Distiller said “There are so many enlisted soldiers with families who would love to go to their homes for the holidays, but just don’t have the means to do it.”
